Utah Tibetan Community Celebrates Losar

The Utah Tibetan Association celebrated Losar 2022, the year of the Water Tiger with Sangsol in the morning at 10am where colorful prayer flags were hung at the community center and an evening program with dinner, entertainment and dance. This was the first major party post-covid and the community members spent the day celebrating the Tibetan New Year with all the festivities. The day was spent playing musical chairs, games, Tibetan dance performance by the young girls and awarding of appreciation certificates of the Tibetan Sunday school teachers. Losar celebration is one of the most festive periods of the year observed with a lot of religious and cultural events for 15 days. Losar is the time to witness and taste the best of the Tibetan culture and delicacies. Men, women and children are in the best of their traditional dresses.
