Posted on 2009-11-24
Utah Tibetan Association is participating in this year's Trees for Diversity exhibit. This is the first exhibit for the current serving board members. The Trees of Diversity exhibit is presented by the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. The tree exhibit is a way to showcase the rich diversity of communities in Utah.
The Trees of Diversity is hosted by the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. It involves decorating a tree by each invited community. The Utah Tibetan Association this year decorated it's tree with a lungta (prayer flags), Tibetan hats and a yak grazing beneath the Christmas tree. Lhaksam Choden, Thongdol and Kesang Yangki have volunteered their time to decorate the Tree.
The Utah Cultural Celeberation Center invites communities to showcase their culture through the Trees of Diversity program. This diveristy program is a way to connect with another cultural community by observing and sharing cultural artifacts. The exhibit is open to public viewing from November 20th to January 4th 2010 for this year. They will have more than 50 trees and Utah Tibetan Association is proud to be part of the Trees of Diversity program.
