With Increasing growth of the Tibetan community and the substantial increase in the number of Tibetan children, it has become necessary to have a Tibetan community center to preserve the cultural identity and practices for the next generation of Tibetans. The community unanimously agreed it is time to initiate a project to be overcome the challenges of renting a venue to hold cultural celebrations and activities. Therefore, Utah Tibetan community now begins the journey to secure their own community center that would also be shared with the broader community. Need Tibetan language assistance and referrals for resources to enhance their livelihood and career. They also need culturally sensitive case management to help integrate into mainstream services.
We are striving to have our own community center to be able to facilitate the community’s cultural and social needs. Therefore, each Tibetan individual has pledged $200 as the seed money for a community center to show their commitment and support to gaining a Tibetan community center. This is amount is set-aside in a separate earmarked account.
